Covid-19 update

Firstly, I do hope this finds you, your colleagues and families safe and well at this unprecedented and difficult time.

The impact of Covid-19 is being felt by everyone at the moment, and with a Government lockdown. Please see how Winchester Valuations is currently operating, how we are still here to assist and support you now and in the foreseeable future.

The wellbeing of our clients and employees is our first and absolute priority and, within strict government guidelines, we are determined to do our very best to support you through the current crisis by listening, responding and re-shaping our services to you wherever possible, whilst providing regular updates as and when things change.

Currently we are working from home and can be contacted for advice and consultation via phone, WhatsApp, Facetime, text (07717 505277) or e-mail in the usual way (sophie@winchestervaluations.com).

I am continuing to assist clients with the services listed below, whilst adhering to COVID-19 Government Guidelines (26th March, 2020), which state that Surveyors and Tradesmen may attend empty properties providing none are showing symptoms of illness, that the two-metre social distancing rules are followed, and use of PPE where necessary. Currently I am:

· Attending properties on behalf of solicitors beneficiaries/executors to locate personal papers relating to wills, financial, statutory and legal documents, etc., to collect and remove valuables, and to collect/distribute post until redirection starts

· Attending properties to undertake insurance requirements to include weekly security checks on properties, check utilities and central heating, switch off water if required, undertake meter readings, etc.

· Undertaking RICS qualified probate valuation surveys of personal possessions and chattels

· Undertaking RICS market valuation surveys for real estate

· Attending properties to undertake initial disinfection of the property, where necessary*

· Undertaking valuations of small, portable items (jewellery, etc.) at my office – I can arrange, with proper prior planning, for these to be either collected from clients or delivered to my office and then returned

· Carrying out house clearances with a very limited, experienced team, utilising temporary skips at our own depot whilst waste disposal sights remain closed, and our own “in house” incinerators. We are GDPR compliant and also registered and licensed waste disposal carriers. Our registration number is CBDL9008.

Please be assured of my best attention, within the constraints, whilst this situation continues.

If you would like any assistance or advice, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Thank you for your continued support and my best wishes to you all.

Yours sincerely,

Sophie Neophytou

* Recent studies suggest that Covid-19 can remain active for up to three days on plastic, stainless steel, cardboard, copper and other hard surfaces. Our measures will include sanitising keys before and after use, cleaning and disinfecting doors, door handles, work surfaces, bathrooms and WCs, removing and incinerating bed linen, towels etc. We understand there is currently no specific research on how long Covid-19 remains a hazard on fabrics and clothing, however special attention is advised to metal zips and plastic buttons, polyester type materials may retain germs longer than cotton-based fabrics, but all types of fabrics can be contaminated. Our services can be tailored to accommodate your specific requirements.
